Gluing Stainless Steel
There will be a time when you need to join ‘A to B’. Choosing the right glue is a task that requires a deep knowledge of the materials and an encyclopaedic knowledge of adhesive technology.
Stainless steel is one of those metals which often needs to be glued, especially within the manufacture and installation of heavy machinery.
First of all, let us look at what stainless steel is. In its basic form, stainless steel is a mild steel which containing a minimum of 10.5% chromium.
It is available in approximately 150 different grades, with 15 or so of these being of importance. Stainless steel has some great properties. Not least of them is exceptional resistance to both corrosion and oxidation. It is durable, has high strength and is aesthetically appealing. It finds major industrial use in a range of applications from surgical instruments to storage tanks and exhaust systems, and it is in this area that we had a recent enquiry.
Stainless Steel and other metal bonding system that is even stronger than epoxy, 3,500 psi, and sets in 15 minutes. Bonds plastic to plastic, plastic to metal, and metal to metal. With excellent Stainless Steel Bonding performance.
The thick formula fills gaps, it is high impact and water resistant, easy to mix and requires minimal surface preparation
