Industrial pipe sealants.

Pipe sealing glue, pipe sealant or pipe compound….three different names for the same product! However as the name suggests, are used to seal threaded metal pipe fittings.

They work by sealing the gaps between the fittings, thus preventing whatever the pipe is carrying, from leaking past the threads.

They also lock the threaded fittings in position, preventing loosening due to vibration. Finally, they protect the threads from corrosion, both from the fluids within the pipe and externally by environmental conditions.

In actual fact, they are similar to threadlockers, the difference being pipe sealing glues are formulated to withstand the high internal pressure which threadlockers do not have to endure.

While some pipe sealants are designed to produce bonds that may make disassembly difficult, others can be taken apart with standard hand tools. In fact, two of our pipe sealants contain Teflon, which aid assembly and reduce the potential for damage to pipe system components. We offer a range of pipe sealants, each with specific properties.

Two of our best selling pipe sealants are S72 and S977, products which have established themselves as leaders in their class. Leaders through ease of use, ultimate performance and premium quality, but not at a premium price.

S72. A Teflon based slow curing product, ideal for an instant low pressure seal.

S977. A fast curing product, ideal for sealing gas pipes. Product meets the performance requirements of BS EN 751-1:1997 (Sealing materials for metallic threaded joints in contact with first, second and third family gases and hot water) and conforms to the requirements of WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme), a requirement should the pipe seal be used is drinking water applications.
