Threadlocking Adhesives

Threads 1Thread-locking adhesives are single-component adhesives supplied to the threads of fasteners such as screws and bolts to prevent loosening, leaking and corrosion. Our thread-locking fluids are based on methacrylate chemistry and cure anaerobically (without the presence of oxygen). Thread-lockers exhibit a time-dependent decrease in viscosity. This allows them to flow well over time, yet still resist short-duration shearing, as in vibration or shock. Our Thread-locking products may be applied before or after assembly, depending on the type selected for the application.

Our thread locking adhesives are available in “permanent” and “removable” formulas, with heavy-duty permanent thread lockers rated to withstand very high shear. Some of our thread lockers are removable with the application of heat. Because thread locking adhesives typically rely on the electrochemical activity of a metal substrate to form a bond, substrates often require thorough cleaning, and for this, we always suggest the use of our degreasing product such as X35.Bolt Head

Our thread locking adhesives are typically used for locking and sealing threaded fasteners. Some of them resist lubricating oils and find use in the fabrication of furniture, pumps etc. Upon customer request for a thread locker with certain qualities, we occasionally add new thread lockers to our range. Our thread locking adhesives cover most of the applications including small diameter screws, vacuum adjustment screws and assembly screws. X50 X50A high strength hydraulic thread locker. This product offers excellent oil resistance and is commonly used for permanently locking and sealing threaded fasteners. This product is designed for use in locking & sealing threaded fasteners. It is suitable for machine tool access bolts & hydraulic system bolts. It can be used on gear box/drive shaft bolts, bearing cover caps, conveyor roller bolts and construction equipment.
X55 X55-50 A medium strength thread locking adhesive. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces. The product has a unique flow property which reduces the chance of the adhesive flowing into undesired areas. The product has resistance to light lubricating oils & grease. Designed for use in locking & sealing threaded fasteners. It is suitable for machine tool access bolts & hydraulic system bolts. It can be used on pulley bolts, alternator bolts, tension bolts etc.
X130 X130-50 A low strength, low viscosity general purpose thread locking adhesive. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces. The product has a unique flow property which reduces the chance of the adhesive flowing into undesired areas. The product is designed for locking & sealing threaded fasteners which will require disassembly for maintenance & repair. This product is designed for use in locking & sealing threaded fasteners. It is suitable for machine tool access bolts & hydraulic system bolts. It can be used on gear box/drive shaft bolts, bearing cover caps, conveyor roller bolts and construction equipment.
X135 X135A high strength, low viscosity permanent thread locking adhesive. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces. The product has a unique flow property which reduces the chance of the adhesive flowing into undesired areas. Designed for use in locking & sealing threaded fasteners. It is suitable for machine tool access bolts & hydraulic system bolts. It can be used on gear box/drive shaft bolts, bearing cover caps, conveyor roller bolts and construction equipment.

 Threadlockers work  by rapidly polymerising in the absence of oxygen during contact with metal. They will cure even at low temperatures, once the vacuum & metallic surface is present. They are always supplied in half full bottles!

Always apply the adhesive to the threads of the nut & bolt.

It is common to see customers pouring threadlocker into a smaller container for use. Never return this adhesive to the original supply bottle as small metal filings within it will cause the adhesive in the supply bottle to crosslink & turn solid!
