Gluing Stainless Steel?
Structural steel gluing solutions.
Stainless steel is one of those metals which often needs to be glued, especially within the manufacture and installation of heavy machinery.
First of all, let us look at what stainless steel is. In its basic form, stainless steel is a mild steel which containing a minimum of 10.5% chromium.
It is available in approximately 150 different grades, with 15 or so of these being of importance. Stainless steel has some great properties. Not least of them is exceptional resistance to both corrosion and oxidation. It is durable, has high strength and is aesthetically appealing. It finds major industrial use in a range of applications from surgical instruments to storage tanks, venting and exhaust systems and specialised air conditioning systems.
Gluing stainless steel to itself, or cross bonding stainless steel to other metals or indeed plastics or composites, is readily achievable, and we are now the one stop shop for a range of two pack glues, which have exceptional tensile strength (upto 4,600 psi), exceptional shear strength (upto 3,600 psi). These glues have a range of working times and fixture times, ensuring that there is a grade to suit your requirements.
