Another Busy Glue Week!
More glue projects!
Wow, with glue enquiries from customers all over Ireland, it was another exceptionally busy week in our glue laboratories! So what has been happening?
Well, I am always surprised when I see customers using nuts and bolts, to secure parts which may be equally successfully joined, with structural adhesives. No holes, no radial stress cracks, no countersinking, and no hassle! Not to mention the weight saving and the better aesthetic appearance of a glued part!!
Scigrip SG6000 got an approval from a customer gluing Ertalon®6, a grade of cast nylon. It is being used in the manufacture of a housing for an electronic device. Why was Scigrip SG6000 used in this application? When gluing Nylon, it typically needs a surface primer. The use of Scigrip SG6000 dispenses with this!! A winner all of the way.
Our silicone potting resin DP510ZA, received an approval from a manufacturer of gas meters. It’s ease of mixing and non sag capabilities offered the customer quick processing and easy dispensing.
Loads more gluing and sealing tasks await us! We are really looking forward to next week!
